Entry requirements for the Sixth Form
Each application is considered on its own merits,
but our normal entry requirement for Level 3 courses is a minimum
of five subjects at GCSE with grades of A* - C, including English
and Mathematics, normally from Higher GCSE papers. You will be
expected to have a good grade in the subjects you wish to study
in the Sixth Form (or in related subjects if the course is one
which is not available at GCSE level). Exact details of the requirements
can be found in the course descriptions in the options leaflets. Your
school record and reports from Years 10 and 11 will also be taken
into account when we consider your application, and you will be
invited to an interview in the spring term. If you are applying
from another school, we will require a reference from your current
school. All external applicants are invited to visit the
school to discuss their application and choice of courses.
Code of conduct and Dress Code
As a successful school Sixth Form we have the
very highest expectations of our students at all times. Students
in the Sixth Form are seen as role models for the rest of the
school, and ambassadors in the local community. We expect all
students to abide by our code of conduct and be smartly dressed
while in school.
How to apply
Please fill out the application form which is
in the Sixth Form information pack. You will need to find out
your predicted grades at GCSE before you can do this and ask for
a reference from your current school. Application forms should
be sent to the Sixth Form Office before 31 January. We will accept
later applications, but you if you hand in your form after the
specified date, you may jeopardise your chance of being able to
study your first 4 choices.
External Candidates should send their form to:
The Director of Sixth Form
Dunraven School
94 - 98 Leigham Court Road
London
SW16 2QB.
All students applying for a place in the Sixth
Form will be asked to discuss their application with a member
of the Sixth Form team before the end of the current school year.
