At Dunraven we can offer you a Sixth Form
experience which is challenging, varied, interesting and rewarding. While
many of our students have been at Dunraven since Year 7, we
welcome students who wish to change from another school after
GCSE. Students from other schools settle in very quickly
and become valued members of the Sixth Form community. This
information booklet will help you decide if Dunraven is the
right Sixth Form for you The separate course description leaflets
give an overview of the courses available and their entry requirements
and contain guidance on why to choose a particular course.
In the Sixth Form, you will have the opportunity
to study in more depth those subjects which interest you most. Studying
in our Sixth Form to gain a range of AS-Level and A-level qualifications
is an effective way of improving your chances of gaining a place
at a good university and of obtaining suitable and satisfying
employment.
We provide our students with excellent ICT
facilities, including access for both private study and for
lessons. Students have all day access to a Learn Centre with
50 PC workstations and 5 e-macs, where they are supported in
their independent studies by our e-learning coordinator.
The SL6 collaboration
Our close links with St Martin in the Fields
and La Retraite schools enable us to offer an extended range
of subjects at AS or A-level. Together the three Sixth Forms,
whose current enrolment is over 550, offer a very wide
range of AS and A-Level choices, including distance learning
programmes which are often supported by video conferencing.
