Auditions for 'West Side Story!
Next year the Creative Arts department is putting on the biggest school production yet. 'West Side Story' will be performed in February 2010. Auditions are open to ALL students from Year 7-13 and will take place in the FIRST week back after the summer holidays. more...
  
 
Swine Flu
David Boyle wrote to parents on 29 June to give basic information about swine flu. There have been a number of confirmed cases in Lambeth recently and so this letter is being sent as a precautionary measure only. There are currently no cases of swine flu at Dunraven.

The Swine Flu virus is thankfully relatively mild. Families can help ensure that there is a reduced risk of catching the virus by following the practical advice contained in the advice sheet.
  

 
Year 7 admission for September 2010 entry
Dunraven School will be holding Open Sessions in September 2009 for entry into Year 7 for September 2010. Click here for details of times and dates. Sports Hall shortlisted for award
A sports hall at Dunraven school in south London made from recycled sea containers is one of seven educational buildings to make the shortlist, announced today, says the Guardian of 11 June about the ninth Prime Minister's award for Better Public Building. Principal's letter
David Boyle writes:
I am writing to let you know that our Ofsted report is now available. You can pick up a copy from one of the school offices or download it from the school or Ofsted websites.

The report is very positive and confirms our belief that Dunraven is a good school with ‘a significant number of outstanding features’. Students make ‘good progress’ and outcomes are ‘above average’. Health drop in sessions for Years 7-9
The school has arranged health drop in sessions until the end of term. They take the form of open-door sessions where children can visit health care professionals in room P2 during their Thursday lunch hours. Topics such as contraception, peer pressure and body image are discussed. Click here to see the plan.

Swim free in Lambeth
Young people aged 16 and under and those aged 60 and over are now able to swim free in Lambeth's pools. The Swim Free scheme lasts for two years and is part of a government initiative to get us all more fit and active ahead of the 2012 Olympics. The scheme operates at Brixton Recreation Centre, Clapham Leisure Centre and Streatham Leisure Centre. In Lambeth free tennis is also available for both age groups. See www.lambeth.gov.uk/swim.
  
 
Ski journey - Easter 2009
The Dunraven ski party left for the Austrian mountains in good spirits for the 20 hour coach journey to reach the snow. On arrival the students sorted out their rooms and relaxed before getting their skis, boots and poles. more...

Year 12 Geography Visit

As an important part of our AS Geography course we had to venture off into the wilds of Surrey, to gather essential data for our Unit 2 skills exam. Battlefields of the Somme

The History Department and over fifty Year 10 students, experienced the mixed emotions of the French World War 1 battlefields. After an early start on Friday 27 February and travel to France on the Eurostar Shuttle the Dunraven students headed for the trenches and memorials of the Somme.
