Battlefields of the Somme

On 24th February, 57 Year 10 History students went on a one day visit to the Somme. It was a long day (meeting at 4.30am) but very valuable. Organised through Anglia Battlefield, the students were shown around various battlefield sites by guides who all have had military experience. Nothing can possibly be better to develop understanding than actually being at the sites themselves and hearing the stories of what happened there.
