I left Dunraven in 1981, as my parents decided to move to the U.S. It came as quite a shock when
they decided to move the summer of '81; the move happened in less than a month.
I never had a chance to say goodbye to any of my friends, Justine (Bateman?),
Hina Patel, Caroline and Pauline.

Really missing school
and wish I was back there - can't handle all of this hard work!!! lol. Derek - classic words regarding the Limo night (no more
needs to be said)!! Working in Harley Street at the mo and have started to
try and get my singing off the ground in the meantime. Living in Honor Oak Park
and living the high life (or it could be debated as the low life). Still the
drinking machine as always - but why stop when you
have just mastered it!!! Hope everyone is cool and it would be good to hear
from you - its been a long ol' time. Take care. Hazie. XxX

Hello how are the class
of 2001? If anyone scrolls down and recognises me feel free to contact me, I'm
currently concocting plans for world domination - Dunraven School it was your teaching
inspiration that made me what I am! No sarcasm here! Respect to all the
teachers I had over the years at Dunraven, Ms Andrews sticks in mind and Ms
Whitehorne also - despite some surreal times at Dunraven. I hope
everybody is doing well, making their mark and living their dreams! The only
limit there is is the limit you impose on yourself. Peace, ~S

Hello all. I hear that
Dunraven is now one of the best schools in the area... it was bound to happen
eventually! Many thanks to all teachers who made the effort
with us all. I'm glad to say that it has paid off immensely and things
are going very well. Great idea this website. Regards to all. Ayo

Dunraven, which is one of the best schools in Lambeth

I have only just
discovered the Dunraven site, and after 35 years my memories are very foggy.
However, a few names do ring a bell. Robert Ayling, Bobby Vowles, Robin Smith,
Errol Gurr, Andrew Saunders, Graham Hamilton, (Rita Shepherd) seems familiar. I
do remember Mrs Lowery, she was one of those people
you never forget. Also Mr Jackson, Mr Corbett and a few of the others
mentioned. I've been trying to recall the name of the metalwork teacher, I
think it began with 'W', also the physics guy, he had
an amazing way of rubbing his nose with his index finger. I would love to hear
from anyone who remembers me, hopefully you can fill
in a few gaps. I work in London but live in Aylesbury,
Buckinghamshire. I have 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren. If there are
ever any reunions I would love to attend.

Wow, I have just found
this site and read some of the input. Well done who ever decided on an
‘Old Student section.’ It was many years ago I left (1968 I believe) and I have
always wondered what happened to the other people I knew and this is a great
way to find out. I would be happy to bore anyone who remembers me with what I
have been up to and in turn they can bore me back, just send me an E Mail.
I was surprised to
discover that Dunraven was such an old school and that people on this list go
back to the 30’s, I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that other people
have the same fond memories as I do, particularly of Mr. Corbett !! I now live
in Arizona USA and cannot say I yearn for England, however if anyone is
organizing a re-union for us late 60’s leavers I would make the trip. I have
listed some Teachers and Student names I remember but may have not got the
spelling correct. Mr Corbishly (Woodwork) (still use those skills today), Mr
Dudley Coward (Headmaster), Mr Corbett (PE, English temp teacher) (travelled
the world, what a character) Mr White (English) (leather patches and tweed,
nice teacher) Mr Taylor (Geography) (Leather patches), Mrs Lowry (annex)(Math),
Mr Jackson (Math) (wooden leg), Mrs Ellis (Commerce) (Hillman Imp, lost
dipstick and all her oil, she nearly blew the engine up !), Mr Davis (he went
with us on the ski trip !). PE teacher (O’Connor ?)
drove a red MGA, Mr Carter (annex) (funny mouth due to playing the trumpet), Mr
Guiseppe
The names of the
students I remember are as follows:- Robert Chow, Alan
Beattie, Lynne Davis, Peter Brown, David Randall, Stephen Nichols, Derek
Michele, Terry Wilde, Gus, Michael Ayling, Peter White, David Kavangh, Colin
Davies, Dorothy Heywood (My first love), Sheila Heywood, Valerie (Dorothy’s
friend), Constance Lampty, Deborah ?, Ann Carter, Brian Champion, Phillip
Patel, Vanda Kimiotek, Sheila Long, Joyce ?, Robert Nunn.
Other things I remember
(although maybe not exactly) Gill (my house) football team I seem to recall
only ever lost one game and that was to Morris the score was 1-0. it was the our first game we played and never lost
again. I also recall that one season we beat Scott 13-0 playing in the
snow, myself the goal keeper and the other full back took it in turns to go up
and kick the ball away from our goal as it was snowing at the time and we were
all sitting behind the goal post for some shelter, I seem to recall we went to
Ewell playing fields for our sports on hired buses. I also recall one
year we went on a ski trip to Champery in Switzerland. I believe we travelled
there by train (us mere mortals were not allowed to fly !).
Can’t remember much except getting my bronze medal for skiing
and trying unsuccessfully to chase the girls. I
f anyone out there remembers me
or the people I have mentioned please E mail me as I would love to chat about
the old times.

Hi to all, I had joined
Dunraven in 1993 and left in 1996. I learned a lot in terms of education,
Sports, life and a whole lot of things. I was fortunate enough to have teachers
like Mr. Ness (Drama), Mr. Addison (History), Miss Hitchcock (English), Mr.
Dixon & Mr. Harrison (PE) etc.. I had some of very
good friends like Jason Samuels, Natalie Campbell, Deniz Ali, Chirag Patel,
Nicole, Raymond etc.. I am in India right now, working for Carphone
Warehouse in their call centre. Anybody who knows me is free to contact me on

My God, so many
memories come rushing in at the very mention of Dunraven! I left this school in
the year 1996 and even though I was here for only three years, I had the best
time of my life. With friends like Ashley, Tim, Tom, Elias, Shahjahan, and so
many more!!! Where are you all? Please get in touch with me if you happen to
see this message. Right now I am in India. After leaving school I went on
to get my graduation degree in Chemistry. I have just finished getting my
Masters in Physical Chemistry from Delhi university.
To all those who are thinking of getting admission in this school....go right
ahead. Trust me, you will have a gala time!! Take care
you all! PS. I would also like to thank all my teachers, viz. Mr. Ness. Ms.
Barry, Ms. Horn, Ms. Finch, Ms. Moore, and many more!!

A big
HELLO to anyone who remembers me. My 5 years at Dunraven were fantastic. I have many great memories
of my friends and the antics we used to get up to. It would have shocked the
teachers to think that we would have got up to those sort
of things. I was part of a very large group of friends (boys & girls). We
were very close and we had great laughs. I miss them all very much. The
teachers were great, particulary Mr Williams. I will never forget my Dunraven
days. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me. I hope one day, Dunraven
will hold a Reunion Day for all of us ex Dunraven pupils.

I have always had happy
memories of my time spent at Dunraven. The headmaster was Mr Dudley Coward. I
remember he used to tuck a linen handkerchief up his suit jacket sleeve and
fiddle with it during morning assembly. I now realise this was obviously to
cover up his nervousness! I remember Mrs Ellis, typing, and swore never to work
in an office. Which, of course, is exactly where I now am and
what's more rather enjoy it! (She was right). Mr Swan, RE, was an
inspiration and greatly encouraged me to take school work seriously. Does
anyone remember Stephen Baker, the rather dishy gym teacher who nearly caused a
scandal when he got engaged to a pupil? I am still in touch with Jo Belloni,
who was headgirl and I was deputy. Jo's brother, Tony, was Headboy. I have been
prompted to go on this site after watching 'Newnight' on BBC2 last night, when
Dunraven was featured. I loved my time at the school and appreciated the good
grounding I was given by all the teachers. Unfortunately I missed out on the
6th Form as my family moved up to Yorkshire. Where I
still live today.

Hi all, this is the
second entry I've made to this website! I've been reading the past e-mails that
you guys have left and I thought it would be great to write and tell everyone
what I'm up to and also to hear from some people who remember me. Some of you
might remember me as the American girl, I used to hang
out with Stella Botchway and Jane. I had some lovely teachers and Mr Townsend
was brilliant. I went onto Croydon College after I left Dunraven and then
went on to study Journalism at the London Institute. After leaving Uni I got
myself a job at Penguin books and went on to work as Assistant Editor for their
Travel Guides department, writing and editing. I switched careers a few years
later and I'm now Producing Music videos and short films. I've produced stuff
for The Mitchelle Bros and The Streets remix videos, you might catch them on
MTV Base. I'm super busy, but love my job and my new friends, but I will never
forget Dunraven. It was a very inspirational time in my life. I remember
sitting on the lawn during the summer and talking about what I was going to do
in the future and it all seems so long ago now. It would be great to get in
touch with anyone who remembers me, Jane I would love to know what you are up
to....also Lan and Stella, who I've lost touch
with.....

Well it's
some years since I visited the school but it seems to have gone from strength

Attending Dunraven from
between 1973 until 1978 was undoubtedly the happiest years of my adolescent
life. Growing into early manhood during the 70's, and during
an era which was so simple in contrast to our present day. How times
have altered in thirty years since than! Fortunately being a former student of
Mr. Steven Corbett for three of those years, and being a thoroughly enjoyable
experience, he managed to show me and many others that life itself does make
room for play, and that it is not always as serious as we think it. If anyone
remembers me please drop me a line of two, it would be great to hear from any
of the old crowd.
