Kwame Kwei Armah visited Dunraven to produce a radio programme on the series Roots which was on television 30 years ago. It tells the story of the life and the future generations of the family of a boy called Kunta Kinte who was taken from Africa to be a slave in America in the 18th Century. Our students, led by Ms Birbalsingh, discussed their reactions to seeing Roots. Click here to listen. (mp3, 7 mins, 6Mb.) Broadcast Radio 4 24 March at 10:30 am.

Congratulations to the students who took part: Rohan Smith, Chidi Amadi, Azara Meghie, Sarah Beute, Lucy Nathanson and Davina Payne.

The mp3 file is 6Mb and a typical download time on broadband is 30 secs, so you may find that nothing seems to happen while your computer downloads the file. If you prefer to know what's happening, RIGHT-click the link and choose "save link as", then "save". When the file is fully downloaded, click "open".
